Dr Drynan is an adult and paediatric shoulder, elbow and knee surgeon, who grew up on a dairy farm in Queensland and completed his Mechanical Engineering and Medical degrees at the University of Queensland. After graduating from Medical School and working throughout Queensland, he completed two years of Orthopaedic training in Queensland and then the final two and a half years in Sydney. He was awarded Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons and Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association in 2019, through an accelerated timeframe of just over four years.
Dr Drynan completed multiple subspecialty Fellowship training obtaining the skills to deal with numerous complex orthopaedic conditions.
During his time in Canada, he was awarded the Teachers Chair Award for the greatest contribution to teaching by a Fellow. He also published textbook chapters and scientific articles. He worked with Dr Christian Veillette, Dr Timothy Leroux and Dr Ryan Paul, covering conditions from the fingertip to the medial clavicle. During his knee fellowship with Dr Bu Balalla and Dr David Broe, he obtained skills in managing complex knee conditions, performing primary and revision procedures and publishing academic works.
Dr Drynan is an upper extremity and knee Visiting Medical Officer at the Children's Hospital Westmead and has admitting rights at Westmead Private, North Shore Private and Mater Hospitals.
Dr Drynan spends his free time with his lovely family in Sydney.
